WATERTOWN — Local award-winning filmmaker Earl Martin has three short films on the festival circuit right now, with one set to screen in Watertown in February.

In the last six years, seven of his films have been selected for festivals in the U.S. and Canada. His awards include Best Short, Festival Favorite, and nominations for Best Screenplay, Screenplay finalist, Movie Poster finalist and Logline finalist.

His latest thriller, “Listen,” was selected to screen and make its world premiere at the 10th anniversary of the Green Bay Film Festival March 6-8.

“Listen” is an experimental film Martin wrote and shot in November of 2018 after listening to a filmmaking podcast that covered the topic of the importance of sound in a film. All the cast and crew are local talent except for Katrina Mazier, the reigning Miss Oshkosh.

“Listen” will have a special Watertown premiere during the weekend of Feb. 7-9 at the Towne Cinema during the 4th annual Oscar-nominated shorts screenings.

Each category is a block of five films. “Listen” will open for the Action category.

This special Oscar weekend event is sponsored by The Lake Mills Yoga Co-op. The cost is $7 per block.

Martin has two separate creative content websites, imalittlealien.com and mre.tv.
