Marlyn and Marjorie Kempf

60 YEARS — The Rev. Marlyn and Marjorie Kempf, of 401 Cherokee Lane in Fort Atkinson, are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary today, Feb. 3, 2016. They will meet with others at the Retirees Breakfast at Willerup Church in Cambridge. Marlyn was first married 73 years ago, while serving in the Army as a truck driver during World War II. He met Marjorie on Nov. 30, 1955. Her husband had died unexpectedly after three years of marriage. The couple was married 65 days after they met in Marjorie’s parents rural Fort Atkinson home by the late Rev. Alban Tippins. Together they had three children: Dennis Duane Kempf, 59, Madison; Kurtis Wayne Kempf, 57, Milton; and Kristie Kay Kempf 55, Fort Atkinson. Marlyn also has four daughters from his first marriage: Donna Mae Lueder, 72, Portage; Patricia Ann Hall, 71, Columbia, Mo.; Jean Ellen Erickson, 69, Deerfield; and Mary Jane Larsen, 66, Madison. The couple has 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two adopted great-grandchildren.
