Creek crash

A two-vehicle crash brought State Highway 26 to a crawl and sent two motorists to an area hospital Friday evening. Shortly after 10 p.m. Friday, Johnson Creek Fire & EMS Department was called to the scene of a collision involving a van and a pickup truck at the intersection of County Highway Y and Highway 26. Officials indicate one vehicle was crossing the uncontrolled intersection of Highway 26 on Highway Y heading into the village, and the other was southbound on Highway 26 in the left-turn lane at the time of the collision. Both Johnson Creek EMS paramedic ambulances 703 and 704 were used to transport the two drivers to Aurora Medical Center at Summit. There were no other occupants in the vehicles. Agencies supporting efforts at the scene included Johnson Creek Police Department, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Jefferson County Dispatch Center.
