The Dwight Foster Library in Fort Atkinson is hosting two painting exhibits this month.

The first exhibit is up now through Sept. 16, featuring a collection of watercolor paintings by local artist Thomas Jewell.

These paintings depict landscape scenes from across America. The artworks displayed will be available for sale from the artist.

Jewell hosted a reception Sept. 7 in the Jones Gallery on the second floor of the library.

Beginning Monday, Sept. 20, the library will exhibit pieces created by the students in Jewell’s adult painting class at the Fort Atkinson Club.

This show will run through Thursday, Sept. 30. The class will host an artists’ reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, again in the Jones Gallery on the second floor of the library.

The Jones Gallery is accessible during all library business hours: Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Local artists interested in exhibiting their art at the library should contact Amy Lutzke at (920) 563-7790 for more information.
