JEFFERSON — Jefferson Cab Rides for the Elderly, which is celebrating 46 years of providing free cab rides for senior citizens living in the City of Jefferson, will hold its annual all-you-can-eat breakfast Sunday, Feb. 16.
The event will take place from 8 a.m. to noon at the VFW Recreation Center, 1420 S. Rockwell St., Jefferson.
This breakfast is the cab ride program’s largest fundraiser of the year, with all proceeds going to support the Jefferson Cab Rides for the Elderly program.
Tickets are available at PremierBank, credit unions and the Jefferson Senior Center, as well as at River Crest Apartments and from committee members. Tickets are $6 in advance or $7 at the door. Children age five and under eat for free.
The menu will feature a variety of breakfast favorites, including pancakes, scrambled eggs, breakfast links, ham, biscuits and gravy, danish rolls, milk, orange juice and coffee.
The 2020 free cab tickets are now available and can be picked up at the River Crest Apartments office. They are available to residents living in the City of Jefferson, age 62 or older, who live independently and are not under paid supervision or custodial care.
Past recipients only need to call 674-5294 and request their 2020 tickets, but new participants are required to complete a short application.
“The Cab Ride Committee would like to thank all the donors who have been so gracious in helping the Jefferson Cab Rides for the Elderly program to continue its mission of giving free cab tickets to the elderly,” members said.
“It is with the generosity of these organizations and individuals that we could continue our program for 46 years.”
Donations may be sent to Jefferson Cab Program, 431 N. Elizabeth Ave., Jefferson, WI 53549.
