John C. Olson

John C. Olson, 75, of Fort Atkinson, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019.

John was born on March 5, 1944, in Clinton, Mass., to Howard D. Olson and Ruth (Melvin) Baie.

He graduated high school in 1962.

In 1981, John started dating Candy Addie and took her hand in marriage on Sept. 30, 2003.

John worked as an insurance agent for Fort Helenville Mutual for 41 years.

John enjoyed coyote hunting, fishing up north, photography, playing harmonica, and spending time with family and friends.

He really enjoyed meeting up with his high school classmates once a month for lunch. He never was too shy to share his opinion, and he had one on most subjects.

John is survived by his loving wife, Candy; sister, Carol (Jack) Huber of Cambridge; nephews, Robert (Karla) Deutsch of Jefferson and Andy Deutsch; niece, Raven Deutsch; stepdaughter, Pamela (Matt) Reed of Florida; stepgrandchildren, Julia and Fischer Reed; sister-in-law, Cindy (Jim) Brookens of Janesville; many other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and nephews, David and Daniel Deutsch.

A visitation will take place on Friday, July 5, from 5 until 7 p.m. A private service will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in John’s name to the Fort Atkinson Wisconservation Club.
