Phil Postel

Philip H. Postel, 84, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, surrounded by his wife and the loving staff at Autumn Winds in Oakland.

Phil was born on March 12, 1935, in Richland Center, to Carl and Harriet (Starkweather) Postel.

In 1954, Phil enlisted in the United States Air Force as a part of the weather service team and completed his education through the military.

Phil met Audrey Olszewski, and on May 5, 1991, they married in Eugene, Ore.

For many years, Phil continued to work as a meteorologist through the United States Government and retired in 1990. He then moved back to Wisconsin, where he worked as a handyman at the Koshkonong Mounds for 20-plus years.

He enjoyed golfing and watching the packers, completed crossword puzzles and was an avid reader.

Phil is survived by his wife, Audrey Postel; stepchildren, Jeffrey (Donna) Nault, Steven (Lorra Lee) Nault and Jacquelyn (Bradley) Goss; three grandchildren, Ellerey, Desty and Sophie; many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Jim and Bill Postel.

Per Phil’s wishes, no services will take place.

Nitardy Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
