Rock River Safety Patrol Chief Ryan Peterson and Officer Mike Herman patrolled Lake Koshkonong and portions of the Rock River Sunday, June 28. Peterson described the day's recreational and boating activity as "busy," noting that typically, Saturday is the busiest day of the week. Sunday was busier than a typical Saturday for this time of year, he said, adding that he has noticed an increase in water traffic on the lake over the last two years, citing, as contributing factors, receding floodwaters, the diversity and ability of the lake and river to accommodate many types of recreation, and renewed interest, perhaps brought about by COVID-19, in outdoor recreation.
