EVANSVILLE — Cory Roth pitched a complete game for the Jefferson Blue Devils as they earned a 4-1 victory on the road against Evansville in Home Talent baseball on Thursday.

The win moved Jefferson (7-2) into sole possession of third place in the Southeast Section. Evansville (6-3) moves into a tie for fourth place with the Fort Atkinson Generals.

Fort Atkinson was scheduled to play against Waterloo on Thursday, but the game was postponed due to a rain shower. The Generals return to action Thursday on the road against Cambridge at 3:30 p.m.

The Blue Devils will visit Stoughton on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Merchants have a half-game lead over Jefferson in the standings with an 8-2 record.

All teams are looking up at Albion (9-1), which defeated Utica, 11-1, on Thursday.
