A four-inning first powered a 6-3 win for Rome against Ixonia on Sunday in a Land O’ Lakes League game at Rome Park.

Jet Weber, Eric Burow, Craig McDermott and Brett Krahn all scored runs in the first inning to give the Raiders a quick 4-0 advantage after one inning of play.

Rome also got single runs in the fourth and seventh.

Ixonia tried to close the first-inning gap with single runs in the third, sixth and seventh, but the effort was not enough.

Jake Tuttle picked up the win on the mound for the Raiders, pitching six innings.

Rome will take on East Troy in a doubleheader on Saturday at Rome Park at noon and 2:30 p.m. Rome sits in first place with an 11-3 record. Ixonia is 7-7 in second place.
